The local administration of the town of Dărmănești/Dormánfalva has recently taken ownership of a Hungarian military cemetery in neighbouring Harghita county, under dubious circumstances. The cemetery located in Valea Uzului/Úzvölgye (Valley of Uz) was the site of several battles during World War I and II, and many Hungarian and German soldiers are buried there. The cemetery has come to be almost like a place of pilgrimage, not only for Hungarians living in Transylvania, but for all Hungarians.

Following a recent court order, the Hungarian, the Szekler, as well as the administrative flag of the county had to be removed from the assembly hall of the Covasna County Council.

The Civic Association for Dignity in Europe (ADEC), led by Dan Tanasă, asked the courts back in 2016 to call on the mayor of Corund/Korond to take down the “Községháza” (meaning town hall in Hungarian) inscription from the forefront of the building.

Hunor Kelemen, the president of the Democratic Alliance of Hungarians in Romania (DAHR) was banned from Ukraine for a year and a half. Kelemen broke the news himself on his social media account, after he was not allowed to enter the country this past weekend.

The Civic Association for Dignity in Europe, led by Dan Tanasă, a widely known anti-Hungarian nationalist provocateur, continue their vicious fight against Hungarian signs and inscriptions. Their latest action resulted in a first degree court ruling ordering the removal of a bilingual greeting sign on the border between Covasna/Kovászna county and Brașov/Brassó county.
